In Thursday’s studio practice we still had very little media
from the production group for us to work with. We used their script but we were
unsure if it was the latest version. Unfortunately we were unable to run
through the whole show because of these issues as well as the time we spent
sorting out the Tricaster to do what we needed.
On the morning of the live show, we were gradually provided
with the remaining content that we needed. When we ran through the show, the
duration was quite short of the required 30 minutes, meaning we would have to
stretch certain parts as much as possible. This took the form of slower
speaking sections, an additional news story being added that had been taken
away, and more ad-lib between presenters.
In the end, the show’s final duration was 6 seconds short.
Unfortunately there was an issue with the sound during the live interview. We
were unaware that the 3rd microphone had been taken out of the Tricaster so the
interviewee’s sound was only being picked up slightly by the presenter’s own
microphones. During an insert we asked one of our presenters to apologise for
the technical issue when the insert finished, thereby acknowledging that a
mistake was made, whether it was our fault or not.
Here are some photo's from the day
