First class honours graduate in Television and Broadcasting with experience in television running and producing television programmes in a university studio and in outside broadcasts.

EDUCATION

2010 – 2013                            BSc (Hons.) Television and Broadcasting,
University of Portsmouth

Degree focussed on all the practical aspects that combine to make a television programme that is suitable for broadcast. This course enabled me to develop abilities to:

  • Show good organisation and team management skills whilst assuming studio roles such as producer and production assistant;
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with a range of clients;
  • Use Avid Media Composer during post-production to ingest and edit videos;
  • Use a variety of computer graphic packages including Adobe Photoshop, Flash, and Director for a range of purposes;
  • Use an array of basic film making equipment such as Sony PMW-EX1 cameras, Dedolights, MixPre field mixer, and a selection of microphones;
  • Undertake research for the purpose of planning and scriptwriting television shows;
  • Complete a variety of production paperwork for the purpose of organising and clearing television shows;
  • Producer of several television programmes and videos including 'The Sky's The Limit', 'Television and Broadcasting promotional video', ‘CCi Live’, ‘The Manual’ and ‘The Writer Behind The Block’.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

July 2014                    Work experience on ‘The Big Allotment Challenge’ at Silver River Productions

  • Researching and obtaining items to be used in production;
  • Logging rushes;
  • Delivering important items to other nearby companies;
  • Preparing props and production materials to be used on location;
  • Preparing mail to be sent out to garner interest in a new production;
  • Filing paperwork for editors;
  • Transporting and organising props on location for filming.

July 2013 – Present             Runner for Arsenal TV ‘MatchDay Show’, Arsenal Media

  • Looking after the crew and presenters refreshment requirements;
  • Picking out suitable tweets to be read at half time and full time;
  • Carrying out various requests to help ensure the show runs smoothly, including sourcing and analysing informational materials;
  • Filling in at other positions when required such as autocue operator and telephone operator on ‘The Clock End’ phone-in show.

January 2013       Location Runner for ‘Food Glorious Food’, Optomen Television

  • Organising walkie-talkies for distribution to production team;
  • Transferring pickups tape between production office and film crew;
  • Helping set up, lighting and setting down pickup filming;
  • Doing my utmost to fulfil various requests;
  • Ensuring refreshments for crew and contributors were available;
  • Escorting people between various places within the building;
  • Helping to look after judges car arrangements;


OTHER EXPERIENCE

July 2013 – Present                         Sales Associate, Selfridges

  • Serving customers from around the world to the high standard that is expected;
  • Problem solving with knowledge of products on sale, the whole store and surrounding area;
  • Organising products in the stock room to ensure ease and efficiency;
  • Replenishing products so that the shop is well stocked and visually appealing;
  • Supporting new staff members whilst they settle in;
  • Dealing with customer deliveries and stock audits;
  • Cash management before, during and after the working day;


HOBBIES AND INTERESTS

  • Having a strong interest in film and television, including going to the cinema regularly to see the latest film releases and using my own GoPro Hero3 camera for various projects;
  • A keen viewer of a range of sport, including football, tennis, cricket and American football;
  • Leading an active lifestyle including running, playing football, tennis, skiing and going to the gym.


ACHIEVEMENTS


  • First Class Honours degree in BSc Television and Broadcasting;
  • Winner of the BSkyB Award for Best Creative Technologies Broadcasting Project 2013;
  • Completing personal challenges such as the 2011 Great South Run whilst raising money for the Meningitis Trust;
  • TQUK Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (QCF);
  • Own a clean drivers licence passed at the age of 18.
